Skyline High School Replacement

The replacement of Skyline High School is a comprehensive, multi-phase construction project aimed at creating a state-of-the-art educational facility for one of Utah's largest and most active high school campuses. The project required meticulous planning and phasing to completely replace the school without interrupting operations or displacing students, with safety as a top priority throughout construction on a very active student campus.

As electrical engineer across all three phases, our team ensured that all electrical systems were efficiently integrated, safe, and sustainable. Phase 1 included construction of a new athletic building with a swimming pool, two gyms, a dance room, a cardio room, a weight room, a wrestling room, and coaches' offices, along with electrical site engineering and lighting design for the baseball and football fields. Phase 2 delivered a new four-story academic and classroom building with a cafeteria and kitchen, a commons area, a counseling center, and administrative offices, along with electrical site engineering and lighting design for the softball, lacrosse, tennis, and soccer facilities. Phase 3 added a new auditorium and performing arts facility, including a black box theater, choir room, band room, and scene shop.

Our lighting design played a central role throughout the project, including a technologically advanced germicidal lighting application in the athletic building's locker and fitness rooms to reduce bacteria and infection spread, which was recognized in Designing Lighting magazine. Phase 3 also included high-end theatrical lighting and acoustics analysis for the performing arts center, rounding out a comprehensive electrical approach that will serve Skyline's campus for generations to come.
