BIM Modeler – Lighting

Position Summary
Lynk Engineers is seeking a BIM Modeler – Lighting to support the development and coordination of lighting systems within commercial, institutional, healthcare, education, civic, and mission critical projects. This position plays a key role in developing accurate Building Information Models (BIM), construction documentation, and coordinated lighting layouts in collaboration with engineers, lighting designers, architects, and project teams.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient in Revit, collaborative, and interested in lighting design, BIM technology, and integrated project delivery within the AEC industry.
Essential Responsibilities
Develop and maintain lighting system models using Revit and BIM software platforms
Produce accurate lighting layouts, reflected ceiling plans, schedules, details, and construction documents
Coordinate lighting systems with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology disciplines
Assist engineers and lighting designers with model development and design documentation
Participate in BIM coordination meetings and clash detection reviews
Maintain BIM standards, templates, and modeling best practices
Support lighting fixture placement, circuiting coordination, and lighting control documentation
Assist with updates and revisions throughout all project phases
Review and incorporate redlines, RFIs, and coordination comments into project models
Collaborate with project teams to ensure accuracy, constructability, and consistency of project documentation
Maintain organized project files and adhere to established project schedules and deadlines
Qualifications
Associate's degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in drafting, BIM, engineering technology, architecture, or related field preferred
2+ years of experience in BIM modeling, drafting, or lighting/electrical systems preferred
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit required
Experience with AutoCAD preferred
Familiarity with lighting systems, reflected ceiling plans, and construction documentation preferred
Understanding of BIM workflows and multidisciplinary coordination processes
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively within project teams and communicate effectively
Preferred Experience
Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:
Lighting design coordination
Lighting controls coordination
Navisworks or clash detection software
BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud
Commercial building projects within the AEC industry
Understanding of electrical and low-voltage systems
