National Laboratory 115kV Substation Upgrade

Our team provided substation upgrades to an existing 115kV 20MVA substation. The project was challenging as the MV Switchgear was only partially replaced, leaving newer sections to remain. We designed the new metering, main breaker, and tie breaker switchgear sections and tied the existing sections into the new main gear. The system also needed to be tied into the existing SCADA system with upgrades for the new MV switchgear sections. The project included:

• 115kV 20MVA Substation Upgrades

• 20MVA Power Transformer

• Bussing

• Grounding

• NEMA 3R 15kV Switchgear and Controls

• 15kV Bus Duct

• Relaying Protection and Controls

• Structural Steel
