Best in Class: A Utah School's Award-Winning Lighting
Sandy, Utah's first school was a one-room schoolhouse built in 1881, heated by a single wood stove and shared by forty students of all ages. Nearly a century and a half later, Union Middle School stands on much the same ground: a state-of-the-art campus where intelligent lighting design shapes everything from the parking lot to a Broadway-worthy auditorium. Philip Borup, Lighting Certified Professional at Lynk Engineers, led a lighting strategy built around a simple idea: every light in the building has a purpose, from RGB color washes that transform the auditorium during performances to color-tuned classroom lighting that follows students' circadian rhythms throughout the day.
