BIM Electrical Designer

Position Summary
The BIM Electrical Designer digitally models and coordinates electrical systems within building projects. This position involves creating detailed 3D models, ensuring seamless integration with other building systems, and collaborating closely with various stakeholders to optimize design and construction processes.
Essential Responsibilities
With supervision from a principal, develops comprehensive 3D models of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, controls, and special systems (fire alarm, mass notification, communication networks, etc.)
Becoming proficient in Revit modeling and involved in the design process in documentation to produce precise schematics, construction documents, and single-line diagrams. Assists in developing contract plans and specifications with attention to detail.
Collaborates with architects, structural engineers, and mechanical teams to correspond electrical designs within the overall building model, identifying and resolving any clashes or conflicts.
Ensures all electrical designs adhere to relevant codes, standards, and regulations with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Perform engineering calculations.
Perform checklists on projects.
Drawing plans as instructed.
Develop knowledge of the process of project development.
Conducts regular reviews of projects to maintain accuracy, consistency, and alignment with project requirements.
Work closely with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and incorporate feedback in the electrical design.
With direction, provides construction observation and administration.
Attendance at client project meetings and always with a supervisor.
Capable of taking project design to completion with frequent, ongoing supervision.
Qualifications
Proficient with AutoCAD, REVIT MEP, and content creation processes.
Provide high-quality drawings.
Able to set up projects in Revit work in existing models.
Modify details.
Spatial Coordination between disciplines.
Modify Families.
Use/apply filters.
LOD Levels 100 & 200
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc.
Masterworks, Mail Manager, FTP functions.
Bluebeam proficiency.
Cloud Modeling and Setup in BIM 360.
Submittal Reviews as directed by the engineer.
File Management/Folder Structure.
Using drawing checklists for the final deliverable.
Work well under pressure with constant variations in priority and tasks.
Flexibility in hours and willingness to work overtime as required to complete project deadlines.
Proficiency in Navisworks Manage preferred.
Design problem-solving.
Preferred Experience
Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:
Associate's degree in drafting, design, or a related field.
4+ years minimum experience in architectural/engineering design preferred.
Technical proficiency in BIM software, particularly Autodesk Revit.
Knowledge of BIM 360, including cloud modeling and project setup for secure, collaborative design work.
In-depth knowledge of electrical systems design, building construction processes, and relevant codes and standards.
